Ian Andrew Gasse, 1948-2024: an appreciation

We reproduce here SLHS Chair Stewart Maclennan's appreciation of Ian Gasse from v. 59 of Scottish Labour History. Ian was the driving force behind the redesign and relaunch of the SLHS website in 2019, and acted as its editor and administrator until his sudden death in 2024. He worked closely with the designers (Findlay Design) to ensure the new site offered enhanced e-commerce facilities and online subscription renewal for members, and a more functional and integrated membership database for the Society. He is greatly missed by all of us who worked alongside him.
